Something to listen to

I just found the mp3 file of the "Totemügerli" online. (Click on the link in the website to download it) This is a sketch with imaginary swiss-german sounding words. Really funny to listen to and some of the swiss people might even know it from their own childhood. And for all the others, this is how Swiss-German could sound if you have never heard it. And no worries, even for native speakers this story does absolutely not make sense, as most of the words do not really exist. =)

Oh, and I had always thought those strange expressions DO exist, and that I just didn't understand the complexity of the Bernese dialect! Hahaha :-D

Danke fürs Ufkläre ;-) This story indeed does remind me of my childhood. Of vacations spent in the Bernese Oberland with my grandmother...

this proved to be extremely helpful for my Swiss German 101 lesson delivered to some locals :)

I also have started to introduced
Lunik and Lovebugs as well as Marie/Therese Porchet (that one was tricky)

In addition, of course, I explained Gad's concept of "Le Blond" and the condom fake advertisement made by Les Inconnus :)
